This is an excellent video about Santa Cruz surf photographer, skateboarder and surfer Dave “Nelly” Nelson by Kyle Buthman.
Take it all in, there’s some good stuff for surf photographers like this shot of Dave setting up his Canon 8-15mm fisheye and SPL housing, notice the duct tape to hold the focus in place:
You’ll hear a lot about Tony Roberts and his influential surf photography, if you’ve got a spare hour or so I’d recommend listening to the Surf Splendor podcast featuring Tony talking about his photography and life in general too.
It’s a great watch and will stoke you out for the next photo session.
